Enterprise in its current form resulted from the merger of Enterprise with ARM Services in August 2000. ARM brought the ability to deliver maintenance services and Enterprise had the expertise to carry out high level performance improvement and regeneration projects.
The company has developed significantly since 2000. The common outlook and culture which helped to create the drive for the merger remain unchanged.
The merger has been highly successful. Revenue has grown from £100m in 2000 to over £1bn today. The company has broadened its range of services by organic growth and acquisitions. The company works with large organisations such as British Telecom, Thames Water, Severn Trent, Liverpool City Council, Westminster City Council. Northern Gas Networks, Ministry of Defence, Wolverhampton City Council, Tran4M, TfL, Highways Agency, Royal Parks, City of London and Staffordshire County Council.
Enterprise was acquired by a consortium led by 3i in early 2007 and was de-listed from the London Stock Exchange. The top management team has been with Enterprise for a long time; the average length of services is over 15 years. This provides continuity in the business and for our customers.
In September 2007 Enterprise acquired Accord. This was the first acquisition for over two years. It is a landmark for Enterprise as it raised annualised revenue to over £1bn for the first time.
Accord was purchased to enable Enterprise to respond more effectively to customers' developing needs. Other aspects of this expansion are, firstly, it creates a bigger scale, so that we can develop new services and have leading technology and, secondly, it increases our geographic coverage of the UK.
Our strong relationships with customers go back many years. We are proud of our ability to continue to adapt and evolve to our customers' changing needs.
A successful future will be achieved by:
- Serving our customers well
- Achieving a strong financial performance
- Creating new products and systems
- Bringing on board new skills and expertise as required
- Using joint ventures and partnerships to ensure we have the necessary range of services
Our goals are to continue to have outstanding personnel and a support structure that excels in terms of performance for customers, while focusing on maintaining the infrastructure of the UK.
