What are our entry requirements?

 

  • Must be educated to GCSE level. Grade requirements dependant upon apprenticeship route applied for.
  • If applying for a trade apprenticeship, candidates must have sat and passed the CITB initial assessment.
  • Committed to NVQ studies and further training and development as required.
  • Preference to those who can demonstrate that they have a genuine interest in their chosen route.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must take pride and effort in their work.
  • The ability to approach tasks in a responsible manner.

 

What training and development will I receive?

 

Enterprise is dedicated to ensuring that all employees receive the training that will assist them in their role within the company. As an apprentice you will be provided with ample opportunity to develop your skills in order to enhance your career prospects within the company.

 

  • Induction Event – During their first week, all apprentices will attend an induction event. During this time, they will be informed about what to expect from the apprenticeship scheme. They will also be given an overview of the company, a health & safety briefing, and be advised of their rights  and responsibilities.

 

  • Work Place Training – You will be working with a qualified supervisor who will act as your mentor throughout your time on the apprenticeship scheme. This will provide you with on-the-job experience and we will ensure that you gain experience of all aspects required for your NVQ course.

 

  • NVQ Qualification – From the start of your apprenticeship, you will be studying towards an NVQ level 2/3 qualification in your chosen area. This will be under continual assessment by our training provider, who will have regular review meetings with your supervisor.

 

  • Review of progress – After your first month of employment as an apprentice, you will attend a review meeting with a member of the Training Team. The review will give you the opportunity to discuss how you are enjoying your work and NVQ studies and also if you have any problems / queries these can be discussed at this time. The reviews are then continued to be carried out with you throughout your apprenticeship on a quarterly basis.

 

  • Core Skills – We also build into your training programme some additional modules that will develop your core skills, such as communication and problem solving.

*The length of the programme is dependant upon candidates’ current level of qualifications/experience upon joining the scheme.

 

How do I apply?

 

All vacancies are advertised through local Connexions and the Job Centre plus offices. In order to apply, please visit your local centre and they will provide you with further details about the opportunities. All applications must be in the form of an up to date CV and covering letter, which is then to be sent to our Central Support office where it is reviewed and scored by our Apprenticeship Recruitment team.

 

When do you recruit for apprentices?

 

We generally commence our apprenticeship recruitment by placing advertisements in the local Connexions centres and Job Centre Plus offices in March / April time.
