Enterprise Wins the Utilities Considerate Contractors Gold Award 2009

The Birmingham City Council Considerate Contractor Streetworks Awards took place at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Birmingham on Thursday 10 December 2009.

Enterprise, in partnership with Severn Trent Water, has won the Utility Contractor Gold Award. This is in addition to a previous Utility Contractor Gold Award and a Utility Merit Award that have been won during the last five years of the same contract.

The Awards were launched in 1998 and the Considerate Contractor Streetworks Scheme aims to improve safety performance and drive forward the quality of street works, to benefit Birmingham’s citizens, visitors and businesses.

The Nominees must show how the affects of works are minimised for the customer. Nominees are also assessed in terms of quality, safety, environmental impact and coordination with other works. Winners are then selected from a panel of judges comprising of representatives from the Council, contractors and lay assessors.

The Awards, of which Enterprise was also a sponsor, had nearly 500 guests in attendance, which is the largest turnout for the awards to date. Accepting the award, Jeff Lord, Customer Service Manager, of Enterprise says “This award is a testament to everybody that has played a part on this contract. I wish to thank all those concerned from Severn Trent Water and Enterprise who have over the last 12 months worked extremely hard as an integrated team. They ultimately played a considerable part in making this fantastic achievement possible. This Gold Award represents a magnificent close to AMP4 and a fantastic start to AMP5.”
