 Enterprise Awarded Four Contracts

Enterprise, the infrastructure maintenance support services company, announces that it has been awarded four contracts in the power sector.  These projects further expand Enterprise’s footprint in Scotland and England, strengthening the Group’s presence in the growing renewables energy market.

Two contracts were awarded by Scottish and Southern Energy Group for its ABC Overhead Line Framework contract in Southern England and for the supply and construction of a GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) substation for Scottish Hydro Electric Limited (“SHETL”) at Dounreay in North Scotland, as part of a consortium. The substation work at the Dounreay site forms part of the wider programme to upgrade the facility to receive power from offshore windfarms in line with the Ofgem Scottish transmission improvement plan. The framework contract has a potential value of circa £18m over a five year period and Enterprise’s share of the consortium project is worth £9m.

Enterprise and Scottish and Southern Energy have worked together for a number of years and these awards strengthen that relationship, further demonstrating the specialist capability that Enterprise has in the power sector.

Two contracts were awarded by subsidiaries of the Scottish Power Group. Scottish Power Renewables Ltd awarded a project to design and construct an extension substation for the Whitlee Windfarm at East Kilbride in Scotland where additional wind turbines are being added. Scottish Power Energy Networks has awarded Enterprise a contract to install 22km of 33kV cable in Lanarkshire, Scotland.  The combined value of these contracts is c.£6m.

Enterprise has been working with Scottish Power since 2005. These new contracts build on this partnership and demonstrate Enterprise’s broad range of skills in energy management.

Dan Holland, MD of the Utilities Division at Enterprise stated: “We are pleased to be awarded these contracts which further strengthen our position in the power sector. Our power teams operate across the UK offering a comprehensive range of integrated maintenance and renewals services. The breadth of these new contracts demonstrates the range of our offering.”

Neil Kirkby, Chief Executive of Enterprise said: “The energy management and renewables markets represent a growing part of our power business with exciting opportunities for the future. These contract successes underpin our continued progress and demonstrate our strong credentials in this expanding sector.”
