Enterprise has been awarded a Kitemark for Contractor Accreditation by the Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS). TPAS is the leading national tenant participation organisation which works to promote successful partnerships between social housing residents and landlords whilst also empowering tenants so that they can make decisions which fit their needs.
Enterprise scored highly during the accreditation process, achieving a pass rate of 93% across 69 units used for assessment. The accreditation identifies Enterprise’s commitment to working collaboratively with residents to improve the delivery of repair and maintenance services to social homes.
Tenants involved in the accreditation commented that, “Enterprise staff understand and deliver involvement practices much better than our previous contractors, we feel equalpartners and they value our input.”
In addition to tenant engagement during the decision making process, Enterprise values the involvement it has with residents through investment in the community and at local events. There is a wide range of activities and schemes that Enterprise has introduced in local areas including apprenticeships and return-to-work schemes for the long term unemployed. This was noted by the TPAS report, “Enterprise is very active in supporting a high number of community events to increase involvement, community spirit and build trust in the area. It is fully committed to employing and training local people to invest in communities and the matrix highlights a number of activities in this area.”
Enterprise is experienced in the delivery of the repair and maintenance of all types of properties and has highly qualified teams providing these services for social housing. It works in partnership with a large number of Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) and Arms Length Management Organisations (ALMOs) to provide services ranging from simple repairs through to full estate management. Enterprise is also a partner in the largest estate management contract in the UK, working for the MOD Defence Estates on the maintenance of 43,000 accommodation properties for Service personnel.
Jonathan Mackie, Strategic Director, Local Government Division, Enterprise said “It is fantastic that TPAS has awarded us this accreditation as a demonstration of our commitment to residents. Resident engagement is critical to all our social housing services and we are proud of thevalue that we can add, not only to their homes but also to their communities.”
