At the recent Water Dragons Innovation Awards, held by the Society of British Water and Waste Water Industries (SBWWI) Enterprise scooped the ‘Best Presented Innovation’ Award.
The Awards are based on the format of the Dragons Den TV programme, with entrants presenting their innovative ideas to a panel of four water company Senior Managers. The water companies which took part were Severn Trent Water (STW), Yorkshire Water, Thames Water and Anglian Water.
Enterprise pitched its innovative ‘Q Clip’, which was developed for the work carried out between Enterprise and STW. This clip joins barrier sections around work sites securely. It helps to overcome the challenges of vandalism, increases the safety of sites and reduces disruption and maintenance costs.
The development of the clip was a joint effort between Enterprise, its customer STW and one of its suppliers.
The Innovation Award recognises the ‘Q Clip’ as the best all round innovative product. During the Award presentation, Enterprise was commended for its collaborative supply chain approach to developing the product.
The Water Dragons said: “Very good understanding displayed by all parties and they see the opportunities to expand the concept. This is a simple product, with clear benefits. A good team effort.”
