We are committed to acting responsibly and executing our operations so as to create the least possible impact on the environment in which we operate.
Our Approach
The Group has implemented a dedicated and externally accredited environmental management system since March 2000.
We monitor our overall environmental performance via our Business Excellence Central Support Unit (BECSU) as an integral part of our monthly Steering Group Meetings.
Environmental performance related data is presented to the Board on a monthly basis by the Director of HSEQ Management; with our Divisional Managing Directors monitoring and reviewing their division’s performance on a monthly basis as an integral part of their HSE&Q (Health, Safety, Environment and Quality) Review Meetings.
We share best practice throughout the Group via our Steering Committee and encourage employee involvement wherever possible. This helps to promote environmental awareness, direct ownership and support for the systems and controls that we have developed together.
Our Principles
- Develop our existing environmental systems, controls, monitoring systems and reporting criteria.
- Improve our overall environmental performance in conjunction with our contractors (Sub-contractors and Direct Service Providers).
- Recognise and respect all of the environments that we work within in order to minimise the overall impact of our operations on society.
- Strive to dispose of as much of the waste materials generated by our business operations via recycling facilities.
- Reduce our energy consumption as far as is possible in order to minimise our overall carbon footprint.
