Community Initiatives in the North West

Business–Education partnership with Corpus Christi Catholic Sports College, Fulwood, Preston
Enterprise has developed a Business–Education partnership with Corpus Christi Catholic Sports College in Fulwood, Preston. This is a mixed, comprehensive secondary school for 11 to 16 year olds. In 2005 we became an official business partner, helping Corpus Christi to realise its goal of achieving specialist school status as a sports college. We support our partner high school in many ways, such as providing work experience placements and career talks to the students and also assisting with development projects, like its new IT centre.

Working together with The Coppice School, Bamber Bridge, Leyland
We have been partnering with The Coppice School that is local to our Head Office in Leyland for a number of years, providing support and funds. The school supports severely disabled children from 2-18 years old. Every year pupils from The Coppice attended a work experience taster day. They are given an overview of Enterprise activities and enjoy a real-life Telecoms demonstration showing how our operatives climb poles for cabling work. They then get involved in activities with teams around the office.

Enterprise partners with the Derian House Childrens Hospice, Leyland, Preston
We have been partnering with Derian House which is local to our Head Office in Leyland for a number of years, providing support and funds. The hospice care for terminally ill children. We have helped them with fund raising in their annual summer fair, providing teaching resources and we are currently collecting money for IT equipment for the pupils.

Liverpool Green Waste Recycling
Our grounds maintenance teams help to run a green waste recycling facility. The teams compost the waste produced from their activities and reuse in other jobs. For the past year the teams have also made this compost available for free to local residents by putting it in a dedicated area of a park and advertising for people to bring a bag and spade and help themselves.

Liverpool Capital of Culture
Enterprise was a principal sponsor during Liverpool's Capital of Culture year in 2008, supporting the regeneration and iconic events such as La Machine, Tour of Britain Finale and numerous events at King's Dock and The Echo Arena.
