Services provided:Clean and dirty water trunk main maintenance and repair, sewerage system repair and maintenance throughout the Severn Trent Water regions, covering all the Midlands, South Yorkshire, Leicestershire, Wales, Derbyshire and Northamptonshire
Value added:
- Emergency response during time of extreme flooding; organising bottled water distribution and coordinating the clean-up and restoration of water supplies
- Re-engineering the planning and scheduling processes to improve efficiency
- Joint working teams that improve communication, issue resolution and transparency
- Community projects to educate and engage young people in schools
- Organising Lay Assessors Days where members of the public visit and inspect work sites in their area, sharing their experiences and learning more about the work we do
Achievements:
- In 2009 Enterprise won ‘Considerate Contractor’ award for its work with Severn Trent Water in Birmingham
- Introduction of recycled aggregate into backfill to reduce the use of virgin materials

Length of current contract: 5+5 years
Type of contract:Alliance Partnership
Services provided:High volume, low value water maintenance works such as burst mains repair, blockages, leak repair (including private leakage), manhole frames and covers and chamber repairs. The scope also includes minor capital schemes such as meter/PMV installation, mains diversions, sewer diversions and sewer serviceability schemes.
Value added:
- Emergency response during times of extreme weather - supplying emergency utilities to cut-off communities
- Co-location with the customer for seamless integration and service delivery
- Significant savings achieved with the introduction of the joint management team made up of both UU and Enterprise employees. This reduces duplication of effort across the management structure
- Combined KPI's ensuring that UU's goal of becoming the number one water company is achieved
Achievements:Unprecedented period of events from the start of the Alliance; including major unplanned interruptions to customers supplies and severe flooding incidents across the North West. These events have seen the Alliance tested from day one. All of the events have been dealt with efficiently and effectively by all within the Alliance aided by the co-location of staff and the combined management team.
